RAJOURI, July 1: In order to curb the menace of illegal distribution and sale of illicit liquor, sleuth of Excise range, Rajouri led by Dr Sajad Majid conducted series of raids at number of villages.
Four persons were arrested along with 520 kg lahan which was destroyed and 250 ltrs illicit liquor seized and five working still were also destroyed on spot, today.
The raids were carried under the supervision of Salam Din Chowdhary Excise and Taxation Officer Rajouri-Poonch range under the direct supervision and direction of Anuradha Gupta, Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Jammu.
The arrested person included Amrik Singh son of Jabir Singh, resident of Bathuni, Shamsher Singh son of Krishan Singh, resident of Bathuni, Parshotam Kumar son of Jagdish Raj, resident of Narian and Vickey Kumar son of Om Parkash resident of Rajouri.
The areas and villages where the raids were conducted are Rajal, Bagnoti, Narian, Patrara, Larn, Janger, Kha 1 and number 2, Jawahar Nagar, Nar Singh Pura, Dalhori, Dhani Dhar, Agri Chingus, Soghat, Potha, Sanchal, Gharat, Brow, Gooni, Rajpur, Patha, Sarnoo, Grati, Chackli, Phalli, Bagla, Nanyal, Dhanar Bathuni and Nowshera areas of Rajouri district.
