Jammu, May 24: First ever 3D Animated film of J&K ‘Veer Yodha General Zorawar Singh’-based on the life of great Dogra warrior was screened at Sangeet Hall of Shri Ranbir Model Higher Secondary School, here today.
Chairman, Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal who was the chief guest, formally inaugurated the screening of the film while Principal, SRML Hr Sec School, Shafat Javed Chib presided over the function organized by Devinder Singh Kalhuria, chairman, General Zorawar Singh Memorial Education and Charitable Trust.
The screening of film earned a big round of applause and appreciation from the audience comprising of young students and faculty members of the school. Earlier, floral tributes were offered by all members to the great soul by showering petals on his photograph.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman, Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal threw light over the life history of great Dogra Warrior General Zorawar Singh, how he conquered and established forts at Reasi in the Jammu region and Leh in the Ladakh region and constructed Mata Chandi Temple at Machail belt of Kishtwar district.
“It was General Zorawar Singh of the Dogra Army who with his sword drew the borders in the Himalayas and included Ladakh, Skardu and Baltistan as integral parts of India,” said Chairman Team Jammu and expressed concern that “unfortunately such great Dogra rulers and warriors could not get their due space in the history.
Principal of the School, Shafqat Javed Chib in her address congratulated Sushma Kalhuria and their daughters Diksha Kalhuria and Riya Kalhuria who belongs to fifth and sixth generation of Gen Zorawar Singh and have written the script of the film.
RJ Tushar Bhardwaj compeered the programme while business entrepreneur, Sandhya Gupta, MDs, MS Classes, Tanveer Shah and Mushtaq Shah, were among others present on the occasion.
