BHADERWAH, July 15: Forest Department seized 39 scants and retrieved 46 kanals of forest land.
According to official spokesperson, a team of forest officials led by MS Jamwal Range Officer Neeru Range along with Haroon Khan Forester and Shepher Iqbal Forester under the supervision of DFO Bhaderwah TB Singh conducted raid on a Band Saw, which was run during night hours by its owner Gul Jawaaz Ganai, son of Abdul Aziz Ganai of Dhrejja, Bhaderwah.
The team seized the Band Saw and dismantled it. The team seized 8 deodar scants. However, the owner of the Band Saw managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.
A case under relevant Section has been registered against the culprit and hunt has been launched to arrest him.
Meanwhile, forest team evicted encroachment from 46 kanals of forest land in block Doggy of Nerru range.
In another operation at Chirala Range of Bhaderwah Forest Division, 31 Scants have been seized in a search operation in Tanta village compartment number 5-6 /ch by the forest team.
