Michael Buble cancels shows to undergo vocal cord surgery
LOS ANGELES, May 19: Singer Michael Buble has cancelled his upcoming shows as he needs to undergo a vocal cord surgery.
The 40-year-old singer announced the news in a statement posted on his social media accounts, telling fans that he wouldn’t be able to talk and sing for a while, and assuring them that he’d make a “complete recovery”, reported Ace Showbiz.
The events he has to cancel include an appearance at The Canadian Governor General Performance Arts Award Gala on June 11, where he was set to receive an honour.
“This award will now be presented at next year’s 25th Anniversary on June 29, 2017,” he said.
Buble has also been forced to pull out of the Marvin Gaye tribute at the Kennedy Center on June 5.
“Thank you in advance for your prayers and good wishes. I’ll keep you up to date on my progress,” the Canada-born crooner concluded his statement.
Buble is the latest singer cancelling their scheduled shows to undergo vocal cord surgery. Last year, Sam Smith and Meghan Trainor went through similar situation to fix their damaged pipes. (PTI)
