37 new COVID +ve cases in Jammu, 98 in Kashmir

One more black fungus case reported

JAMMU, Aug 14: Jammu region reported 37 new COVID positive cases while Kashmir division recorded 98 and the Union Territory of Ladakh registered six new cases today.
No COVID casualties were reported for second consecutive day today. However, one more new case of mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported taking total such cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 42.
Among 37 new COVID positive cases in Jammu region, 10 each were reported from Jammu and Doda districts, seven Kishtwar, four Rajouri, three Udhampur, two Poonch and one in Samba district.
Ramban, Reasi and Kathua districts didn’t report any new cases today.
As against 37 new cases, 64 recovered from the virus.
Jammu region now has 1,22,502 Corona cases. Among them, 545 are active positives while 1,19,801 have recovered from the virus and there have been 2156 casualties.
The Union Territory of Ladakh today recorded six new COVID positive cases, all in Leh district.
Corona count in Ladakh stood at 20436. There are 73 active positive cases, 20156 recoveries and 207 casualties including 149 in Leh and 58 in Kargil district.
Meanwhile, Kashmir reported 98 fresh COVID-19 cases taking the Jammu and Kashmir tally of positive cases to 323,325.
Those who tested positive include 35 from Srinagar, 05 from Baramulla, 06 from Budgam, 09 from Pulwama, 10 from Kupwara, 08 from Anantnag, 11 from Bandipora, 09 from Ganderbal, 04 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 71,794 positive cases including 834 deaths and 70,634 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,756 including 282 deaths and 23,401 recoveries are from Baramulla, 23,013 including 22,725 recoveries and 206 deaths are from Budgam, 15,255 including 15,023 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,151 including 165 deaths and 13,946 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,374 including 16,130 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,552 cases including 9,405 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,013 including 9,865 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,326 including 11,171 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,589 including 5,526 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 200,823 including 197,826 recoveries and 2,239 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 122,502 including 119,801 recoveries and 2,156 deaths.
With 156 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 317,627 which is 98.24 percent of the total cases.
