369 migrant votes polled

JAMMU, Dec 10: Three hundred and sixty nine migrants polled their votes in fifth phase of District Development Council (DDC) election for 17 constituencies of Kashmir valley which went to polls today.
According to official sources out of 7686 ballot papers received by ARTO migrants for today’s polling on specially created 17 polling stations in Government Women Degree College Gandhinagar 369 migrant voters turned up for casting their vote. Out of them 100 votes were alone polled in Harmain constituency of Shopian district in South Kashmir while 269 votes were polled in remaining 16 constituencies of the Valley. Today voting turnout of migrant votes as per official figures is five percent which is the highest number so far.
It may be recalled that in the fourth phase of polling the turnout of migrant votes was four percent only. Out of rest 269 votes, 19 votes were polled Parenpillan constituency of Baramulla in North Kashmir, 43 votes in Tujar Sharief constituency also in North Kashmir district of Baramulla, 10 votes each were polled in Devsar -A while eight votes were cast in Devsar B of Kulgam district in South Kashmir.
In Dachnipora constituency of Anantnag district in South Kashmir, 65 votes were polled while 42 votes were cast in Vessu constituency of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Only four votes were cast in Litter constituency in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district and 12 votes were polled in Dadsara constituency of district Pulwama in South Kashmir.
Forty votes were polled in Qadriabad constituency of South Kashmir’s district Kupwara and 31 in Rajwar constituency of the same district. However, no votes were polled in twin constituencies of Pakhripora and Ratsun in district Budgam besides, Hermain second in district Shopian and Wakura -A district Ganderbal while 10 votes were polled in Wakura B in the Ganderbal district.
