36 schools to be upgraded in Jammu district: Govt

JAMMU, Mar 5:  Government today said  36 schools will be upgraded in district.
In a written reply to the question of BJP MLA Ashok Khajuria, the Government said 36 schools have been proposed for up-gradation.
Mr Khajuria had sought details of schools proposed to be upgraded during the current financial year in Jammu district with special reference to Jammu East Constituency and the activities undertaken under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes in respect of schools in the respective constituency.
“Ten schools will be upgraded from primary level to middle level and 26 will be upgraded from middle level to high level in the Jammu district,” the Government replied.
It said no school has been proposed for up-gradation  to next higher level in Jammu East Constituency, adding  that the up-gradation will be subject to the feasibility,  norms and approval of the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (HRD) in the Government of India.
“Whereas the activities like recurring grants under  SSA at elementary sector, mid-day meal at elementary level, maintenance and annual grant under RMSA at secondary level,  free supply of text books, INSPIRE Award Scheme for Class  6th to 10th and excursion, outside State visits of  students and teachers under RMSA are being undertaken in  Centrally Sponsored Schemes in Jammu East Constituency,”  the Government said.
