36 bovines rescued, 8 arrested

JAMMU, June 1: Jhajjar Kotli and Sidhra police rescued 36 bovine animals and nabbed eight persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli police station laid a naka and intercepted two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK14A-8391 and JK02AH-5977.
During checking, police rescued 22 bovine animals and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Muneer Ahmed, son of Sattu of Banara, Udhampur and Nazir Hussain, son of Sher Mohammad of Malik Market Narwal.
Meanwhile, a team from Sidhra police post laid a naka and intercepted Tata Mobiles bearing registration numbers JK02AX-1497, JK02BF-1486 and JK02BD-5607.
During checking, police rescued 14 bovine animals and arrested six persons, who have been identified as Bagh Ali, son of Mohammad Ismail, Javed Ahmed, son of Babu Din, Zahoor Hussain, son of Shah Din and Javed Ahmed, son of Noor, all residents of Katyal RS Pura, Shakeel Ahmed, son of Jaan Mohammad and Mohammad Asif, son of Mohammad Raqib, both residents of Dooru, district Anantnag.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Jhajjar Kotli police station and Sidhra police post and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Ravinder Singh and Incharge Sidhra police post SI Noor Ahmed made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Amit Kumar Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
