35 bovine animals rescued, 3 smugglers held

UDHAMPUR/KATHUA, Nov 3: Udhampur and Kathua police rescued 21 and 14 bovine animals in three different cases at Tikri, Kud in Udhampur district and Lakhanpur in Kathua district today respectively. While three bovine smugglers were arrested by Udhampur police the smuggles at Lakhanpur managed to give slip to police taking advantage of darkness.
According to the police a police party of Police Post, Tikri led by SI Jaswinder Singh Incharge PP, Tikri under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Katoch, Additional SP Udhampur and Dr. Rohit Chadgal, Dy.SP Hqrs. Udhampur laid a naka near Tikri in Saloura National Highway for checking vehicles.
During naka checking, police party intercepted three load carriers bearing registration numbers JK14C- 7037, JK02CE- 9630 and JK02CG- 4252 during their search 13 bovine animals were rescued.
All the bovine animals were rescued and two accused persons namely Pervez Ahmed, son of Mohammed Sharif of Jagti Nagrota and Mohammed Junaid son of Mohammed Shafi of Ramban was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, three cases FIR Nos. 174/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA, 175/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA and 176/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA, 179/184 MV Act stand registered at Police Station Rehmbal and further investigation of the case is going on.
In another case, police party of Police Station Kud led by Inspector, Vikas Dogra under the supervision of Ahmed Shafi SDPO Chenani laid naka at National Highway Kud during naka checking, police party intercepted one vehicle Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02CD 9921 for checking and eight bovine animals were rescued.
The accused person namely Mohammed Sardar, son of Hassan Din of Beshti Tehsil Chenani, district Udhampur, was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 36/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Kud and further investigation of the case is going on.
Meanwhile a police team of Police Station, Lakhanpur headed by SHO Sanjeev Singh Chib conducted a Naka and vehicle checking at Lakhanpur. A vehicle being driven by a unknown person bearing Registration Number PB10CE -5938 was signalled to stop for checking. On checking of the vehicle, 14 bovines were found loaded in the vehicle without any legal permission and were rescued. However the smugglers though given a hot chase by police managed to escape taking advantage of darkness.
On this instant case FIR No. 97/2020 U/S 188/IPC, 11/PC Act has been registered in PS Lakhanpur and investigation taken up.
Police apprehended a person during the naka checking from whose possession 19 bottles of Desi whisky were recovered after his frisking. He has been identified as Hem Raj, S/o Raghu Nath of Dullangal,Bani.
In this regard, case FIR No. 63/2020 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act was registered in Police Station (PS) Bani and investigation was taken up.
While keeping a strong check over the illegal mining, a police party of Police Station Kathua headed by SHO today raided ‘Shree Krishna Crusher’ located in the jurisdiction of PS Kathua and seized two Tippers and one JCB in the adjoining Khad area at Pla Kuthera. The vehicles were seized on spot and handed over to District Mining Officer, Kathua for further action.
