SRINAGAR, Aug 19: Thirty-four persons were injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir valley.
Reports said that a mini-bus JK03/7410 carrying students of Saint Peter School, Anantnag skidded off the road and turned at Chatti Singpora-Anantnag on Saturday. The mishap resulted in injuries to 21 students. All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Two students Owais Ahmad Sheikh, 15 years, son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Kawarigam, Anantnag and Zakir Hussain Dar, 12 years son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Brah Anantnag were referred to Srinagar hospital for further treatment.
A Toyota JK02V/4015 driven by Hans Raj, son of Ishwar Das resident of Samba on way from Jammu to Srinagar collided with a Truck HR38U/5984 driven by Ranjeet Singh, son of Karan Singh resident of Punjab at Sub District Hospital, Bijbehara, resulting in injuries to Toyota driver and four passengers Iftikhar Ali, son of Ali Mohammad resident of Leh, Sarbana , P. R Chaturvedi, and Champa Chaturvedi residents of West Bengal. All the injured were hospitalized.
An Army vehicle of JAKLI hit a motorcycle JK01P/7835 at Zawoora, Pantha Chowk, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist Javed Ahmad Gilkar son of Abdul Aziz resident of Nawa Kadal, Srinagar. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
A Tata Sumo JK05B/7710 driven by Fayaz Ahmad Khan, son of Ghulam Ahmad resident of Natnusa, Handwara skidded off the road at Singhpora, Pattan , resulting in injuries to two persons Abdul Hamid Dar aged 40 years, son of Mohammad Abdullah resident of Warpora-Dardpora and Ghulam Hassan Mir aged 55 years, son of Abdul Aziz resident of Latishat-Sopore. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
A Tata Winger JK05C/5059 on way from Magam to Kunzar hit and injured a policeman Abdul Rashid near Army Camp Kunzar, Baramulla. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
A Video coach JK02AK/1818 on way from Jammu to Srinagar turned turtle near Charsoo, Awantipora. The mishap resulted into injuries to four persons Shanti Devi, aged 38 years, wife of Maie Palie resident of Rodoraie Rajasthan, Punjab Singh, aged 42 years, son of Gurmukh Singh resident of Hartimadi-Anantnag, Mahveeb aged 32 years, son of Narvati Lal resident of Dalipora, Rajasthan and Banari Lal, age 40 years, son of Baba Lal resident of Dawalpora, Rajasthan. All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment, where from Shanti Devi and Mahveeb were shifted to Bone and Joints hospital and SMHS Srinagar for treatment.
The police has taken cognizance in all the cases.
