JAMMU, Aug 14: The Government of India today awarded 33 officers and officials of Jammu and Kashmir Police with President’s Medals for the distinguished and meritorious services on the eve of Independence Day.
The State Government has also awarded four officers of the JKP with Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Services.
Apart from them, Sanjay Kumar Pandita, Deputy Central Intelligence Officer, Intelligence Bureau (IB), Jammu has also been awarded with the Indian Police Medal.
President’s Police Medals for distinguished services have been awarded to IGP Security, Jagjit Kumar and DIG CID, Jammu, Ali Mohammad.
Police Medals for meritorious services have been awarded to, ASI, Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat, DySP PTWS Jammu Javed Iqbal, Inspector (PHQ) Syed Sajad Hussain, Head Constable (HC) CID Technical Cell Jammu, Veer Ji Pandita, Inspector Vigilance Kashmir Mohammad Rafi Parray, HC IRP 18th Bn., Farooq Ahmad Magray, DySP SSG, Rashid Khan, SSP CID SB Headquarters, Jammu Virender Sharma, Sub-Inspector Technical Hqr, Bashir Ahmad Magray, DySP CID Cell New Delhi Aijaz Ahmed Bhat, HC SOG Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Wani, HC JKAP 12th Bn Rashpal Singh, DySP Hqr, Srinagar Abdul Aziz Qadri, SDPO Hazratbal Zahid Ahmad Lone, HC JKAP 13th Bn, Gh. Mohi-ud-din Tantray, DySP STC Sheeri Ravinder Pal Singh and DySP Welfare (PHQ) Madhu Bandral.
Police Medal for Gallantry has been awarded to Additional SP Shabir Nawab, HC Mohammad Rafiq Malik, HC Mohammad Amin Reshi, SP Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, SI Mohammad Altaf Dar, HC Athar Parvaiz, Constables Fayaz Ahmed Khanday and Jasapal Sharma, Dy SP Mohammad Shafiq, SI Mohammad Saleem, Selection Grade Constable (SGCT) Manzoor Ahmed Mir, SDPO Parvaiz Ahmed Dar, DySP Aijaz Rasool Mir and SGCT Parvaiz Ahmed Dar.
Director General of Police, K Rajendra Kumar, congratulating the awarded personnel, has stressed upon them to rededicate for public service. He said that the contribution of the Organization at various fronts of policing has been recognised at national level and all ranks of the force are committed to deliver better to the nation.
Meanwhile, the State Government has awarded Sher-I-Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Service to four Police officers and officials on the eve of Independence Day, 2015.
They are Yogender Kaul, Inspector General of Police, IRP, Jammu, Nissar Ahmed, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban, Laeeq Ahmed Dar, Chief Prosecuting Officer, Security Headquarters, J&K and Parvez Ahmad Dar, SDPO, Awantipora.
On this occasion, the State Government has also awarded Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry to 38 Police officers/ officials for their exceptionally outstanding performance in different gallant acts during the year 2014 and 2015.
