RAJOURI, Aug 29: At least 33 cattle belonging to about half a dozen villagers from Kalsian area of Nowshera are mysteriously missing.
A deputation of the villagers including Ashok Kumar, Ram Lal, Charan Dass, Ved Parkash and Ram Lal from Kalsian area today lodged a complaint with the SDM Nowshera, alleging that their 33 cattle which had been kept for grazing at water point near Kalsian Army unit, near the Line of Control, have gone missing. The villagers apprehended that their cattle might have been crossed over to PoK or stolen by some people for the smuggling to Kashmir valley via Mughal Road. The SDM however, assured the villagers to take up the matter with the Brigade Commander Nowshera.
SSP Rajouri, however, said that nobody has reported the matter to police so far. He however, said that on the intervening night of August 13 and 14 some cattle from Kalsian area reported to have crossed to that side but they later returned. No villager has ever reported the matter to police, he added.
