JAMMU: Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf, PHE and PDD, Syed Farooq Ahmed Andrabi today reviewed the status of construction of flats on Auqaf land at Wazarat Road in Jammu and called upon the concerned to resolve the impediments confronting early execution of the project.
The approval for construction of 32 two room flats at old Auqaf Sarai at Wazarat Road was given by the Wakaf Council in its 16th Board meeting and these flats would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 7.50 crore.
Reviewing the status of the project at an officers meeting of Housing and Urban Development, Municipal Corporation, JDA, Revenue Departments and State Wakaf Council, the Minister asked the officers to keep close coordination and settle the issues confronting early execution of the project.
Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Vice-Chairman JDA, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Additional Secretary H&UDD, Chief Town Planner Jammu, Chief Executive Officer State Wakaf Council attended the meeting among other officers.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues related to construction of flats.
The Minister asked the concerned functionaries to ensure that all bottleneck impeding the project implementation are settled at all levels besides making sure that the timelines fixed are strictly adhered to.
The Minister directed Auqaf authorities to adopt pro-active approach to protect Auqaf assets across the State. He laid stress on proper utilization of Auqaf land and steps for improving financial health of this vital organization.
He also emphasized on ensuring complete transparency in functioning of the Trust. He directed the concerned officers to ensure time-bound completion of ongoing projects with the assurance of utilization of standard material and judicious use of funds.
