JAMMU, Sept 18: Nagrota and Gharota Police rescued 31 bovine animals and arrested two persons.
The arrested persons were identified as Satnam Singh, son of Amarjeet Singh of Punjab and Rafaqat Ali, a resident of District Anantnag. Three vehicles including oil tanker involved in smuggling of cattle were also seized.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Gharota and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket and SHO Gharota Inspector Khyati Maan Khajuria made the arrests under the supervision of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
