UDHAMPUR, Sept 29: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 31 animals from Jakhani, National Highway, Udhampur.
Based on reliable information, a Police Party led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Sanjeev Chib, under the supervision of Zahid Saif Wani, DySP Hqrs. Udhampur, laid a naka at Jakhani, National Highway, Udhampur and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK04A- 9808. Noticing the police, driver parked the vehicle on the roadside and fled away from the spot by taking advantage of heavy traffic on road.
During checking of said vehicle, 31 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle. All the bovine animals were rescued and the vehicle was seized.
In this connection, a case FIR number 502/2018 U/S 188, RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation is going on.
