RAMBAN, Oct 15: Around 300 kilograms of poppy straw has been seized from a tanker.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Ramban Police Station signaled an oil tanker for checking near Cafeteria Morh.
On seeing police cops, the driver parked the vehicle on the road side and escaped from the spot.
During checking, police recovered and seized 300 kilograms of poppy straw from the tanker, which was concealed in the gunny bags.
A case under FIR Number 167/18 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Ramban Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the accused driver.
Police team led by SHO Ramban Inspector Vijay Kotwal seized the consignment under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Asgar Malik, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
