30 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Jan 10: Police today foiled a major attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 30 bovines by intercepting two trucks at Battal Morh, Majalta in Udhampur district.
The trucks, bearing registration number JK02BT- 6359 and JK03B- 9315, were intercepted by a Police party, led by SHO Majalta, Inspector Narinder Jasrotia, under the supervision of Himat Singh, I/C SDPO Ramnagar during a naka at Battal Morh.
Sensing trouble, drivers of both the trucks abandoned their vehicles on the roadside and fled away from the spot by taking advantage of heavy traffic on the road. During the checking, 30 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in these vehicles.
All the bovine animals were rescued and vehicles were also seized. In this connection, a case FIR number 03/2019 U/S 188, RPC, 3 PCA Act, has been registered at Police Station Majalta and further investigation is going on.
