6 from IIIM, Tehsildar, Consultant test +ve
1145 patients recover in a single day

JAMMU, Oct 6: A three-year-old child and a 110-year-old man, both hailing from Kishtwar district, were among 13 persons who died of COVID-19 in the Jammu region today while 290 persons were infected by the virus, 91 of them in Jammu district even as number of the recovered patients significantly went up to 1145, the maximum being 690 in Jammu district, the worst hit by the pandemic.
Ninety one persons today tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu district, 87 of whom were locals and four travelers. Five members of a family from Sainik Colony and four doctors tested positive in the district.
Sixty four persons tested positive for pathogen in Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) in Jammu district including six at IIIM Canal Road, two GGM Science College, six RS Pura, five Sohanjana, four Akhnoor, three each Dansal and Kot Bhalwal and one at Marh.
A three -year-old child hailing from village Badali in Kishtwar district, who was suffering from blood cancer and was positive for Coronavirus, died in the SMGS hospital Jammu, after month-long treatment this morning. A 110-year-old man from Kahara Gandoh, who was co-morbid and positive for pathogen, died in the District Hospital Kishtwar soon after his admission, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Ravinder Manhas said. He added that the man collapsed when the doctors were preparing to refer him to the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
A 46-year-old man from Jagati Nagrota in Jammu district who was suffering from bilateral Community Acquired Pneumonia and COVID-19 died in the GMC Jammu early today where he was undergoing treatment. A 41-year-old man from Rehari also succumbed to the virus in the GMC Jammu.
Two Corona deaths were reported from Doda district today.
A 46-year-old man from Ghat Doda suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and admitted in the SKIMS Srinagar died there today. He had tested positive for the virus during treatment while a 75-year-old man Bhaderwah, who had bilateral Community acquired Pneumonia and Coronavirus passed away in the GMC Jammu where he was being treated since 30th September.
Kathua district also reported two new Corona fatalities today including a 62-year-old man from Basohli who died in the GMC Kathua and 70-year-old man from Gurha Mundian who died in the home isolation and was brought dead to the local hospital. Both of them were co-morbid and positive for COVID-19.
A 65-year-old man from Sunderbani tehsil in Rajouri district breathed his last in the GMC Jammu after three days of admission. He was positive for the virus.
An unknown man, who was shifted to the GMC Jammu from Vijaypur Police Station in Samba district, was declared Corona positive posthumously.
Meanwhile, Poonch district reported 12 new Corona positive cases including the Tehsildar Mankote and his wife, four SSB jawans of 22nd battalion and a police personnel, SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral said.
Of 18 fresh positive cases in Kathua district, four were workers of Chenab Textile Mills (CTM) Kathua, one official of Public Works Department and one Health worker of Sub District Hospital Billawar, District Magistrate OP Bhagat said.
Among 31 new cases in Kishtwar district, five were paramedics from Dachan block.
Fourteen positives of Ramban district include Consultant of Anesthesia Department in the District Hospital.
Udhampur district reported 14 cases today. Of them, two were BSF jawans, one CRPF personnel and three civilians from hotspot Ramnagar.
Twenty eight new cases were today reported from Reasi district. They include five workers of AFCON company working for the Railways, one Health professional, 20 locals and four contacts of positive persons.
All 26 cases in Doda and 26 of 27 in Rajouri district were locals while 22 of 29 locals tested positive for the virus in Samba district.
As many as 1145 Corona patients recovered today in Jammu region, the highest being 690 in Jammu district, 110 Ramban, 98 Rajouri, 52 Kathua, 50 Udhampur, 41 Kishtwar, 40 Reasi, 30 Samba, 23 Poonch and 11 in Doda district.
Jammu region now has 32249 Corona cases. Of them, 7352 are active positives while 24502 have recovered and there have been 395 casualties.
As per the official statistics, Jammu district has highest number of 206 Corona fatalities in the region followed by 37 in Rajouri, 36 Doda, 28 Kathua, 22 Samba, 21 Udhampur, 17 Poonch, 11 each Ramban and Kishtwar and six in Reasi district.
Meanwhile, 79 more COVID-19 cases were today reported from the UT of Ladakh including 72 in Leh and seven in Kargil district.
This has taken total Corona cases in Ladakh to 4720 and active to 1195 while 3464 have recovered.
There have been 61 Corona casualties in Ladakh including 26 in Leh and 35 in Kargil.
