AKHNOOR, June 10: A team of officials from Geology and Mining Department today laid crackdown at various locations of Akhnoor and seized three vehicles for illegal mining.
Reports said during the exercise, three loaded vehicles involved in illegal mining were seized. After seizure by the department, the vehicles were kept in police custody till the realisation of penalty as per the mining rules.
The teams also checked the enforcement of notified rates of minor minerals and advised consumers to purchase minerals from legal sources only and stay away from illegal miners.
