RAJOURI, June 9: The police seized three vehicles loaded with 23 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers in Thannamandi area last night.
Giving details, an official spokesman said that police party from Thannamandi led by SDPO Iftikhar Choudhary intercepted two Tata Mobile vehicles and a truck on Rajouri- Thanna-Bafliaz road and found 23 bovine animals being transported to Kashmir via Mughal Road. The police arrested three drivers/ smugglers and seized the vehicles bearing registration numbers JK11/9320, JK11B/ 8216 and JK11B/ 5416 (truck), along with cattle.
Those arrested were identified as Sarfraz Ahmed, son of Mohd Sharief, resident of Gurdan Balla in Rajouri, Mohd Ayub, son of Abdul, resident of Rehan in Kandi and Mohd Rafiq, son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Kewal, in Budhal. The police has registered case FIR in this connection.
