SRINAGAR, Mar 22: Police arrested three timber smugglers and seized a vehicle laden with illegal timber in Handwara today.
A Police spokesman said that after acting on specific information, a police party of Police Post Zachaldara seized a Sumo bearing registration numbers JK09-0971, laden with illegal timber at Zachaldara.
He identified the three persons as Ghulam Rasool, Mohammad Ramzan Lone and Mohammad Ashraf Rathi, all residents of Yamlar Zachaldara, Handwara.
“A case FIR Number 77/2018 under Section 379 RPC, 06 Forest Act was registered in Police Station Handwara and investigation was taken up,” he said.
