3 PoK guests arrive, only one Kashmiri cross to other side of LoC

SRINAGAR:  Three Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) guests arrived here today while only one Kashmiri crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 during to partition.

As many as 15 returnees also crossed sides at the Kaman Post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector, official sources said this afternoon.

They said three PoK guests, including a woman, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot.  Similarly fourteen Kashmiris, including three women and six children, who had gone to PoK in previous Karavan-e-Aman buses also returned to their homes after completing their stay there.

A Kashmiri crossed over to PoK to meet his relatives, separated in 1947, they said, adding a woman resident of PoK also returned to her home after completing their stay in Kashmir.

So far 14 PoK residents had arrived here while 21 from Kashmir crossed over to other side in 2016  in the cross-LoC bus service, operating since April 7, 2005. (AGENCIES)
