SRINAGAR, Nov 17:
Only three fresh residents of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here while 24 Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives separated in 1947 due to partition.
As many as 24 returnees also crossed sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector today, official sources told.
They said three PoK residents arrived on this side of the Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge, on foot.
The number of POK guests has dropped because of sub zero temperature in the valley.
During the winter the number of PoK residents arriving in Kashmir decreases because of cold. However, it goes up in summer when the weather remains pleasant.
Sources said eleven Kashmir, who had gone to POK, returned to their homes in the Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffar, capital of PoK since April 7, 2005. They included four women and one child.
However, 24 Kashmiris, including eight women and three children, crossed to other side of the LoC to meet their relatives.
Sources said 13 POK residents, who had come here in previous buses also returned to their homes. The bus service has helped thousands of divided families to meet each other. (AGENCIES)
