3 new PoK guests arrive, 9 Kashmiris cross LoC

SRINAGAR: Three new guests from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here today while nine Kashmiris crossed over to the other side of the Line of Control (LoC).

As many as 10 people returned to their respective place at the Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector, official sources said.

They said three PoK residents, including a child, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot. Three Kashmiris, who had gone to PoK also returned to their homes after completing stay with their relatives. They included two women also.

Sources said nine Kashmiri residents, including three women, crossed over to other side of the LoC while seven PoK residents who had come here in previous Karvan-e-Aman buses returned to their homes. They included two women, sources added.

The weekly cross LoC Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of PoK,  has helped thousands of families divided in 1947 to meet each other since April 7,2005. (AGENCIES)
