It is quite unfortunate that the state of Jammu and Kashmir should come under the Governor’s rule because the three political Parties, the PDP, BJP and the NC could not form a coalition. PDP with 28 and BJP with 25 were mandated by the people to form government in the state and lead all the three parts of the state towards reaping the fruits of able, dedicated and corruption free Government. That the PDP has resorted to a stand which is unexpected off from it by the people especially those from the Jammu region is deplorable. It has shown signs that it takes the views of the anti India Hurriyat leadership more seriously than its responsibility towards the people.
It is futile and ridiculous to treat a party of national importance with true secular credentials and democratic functioning as somewhat untouchable regardless of the fact that people voted that party to power at the centre as well as in nine states. The luxury of uncertainty cannot be allowed in the state because of various sensitive issues. It is better for the two main contenders to evolve an understanding to rule the state for six years as a model Government.
