DODA, June 26: Five people including three children were killed when their car skidded off the road and rolled down into Raggi nallah on Batote-Doda-Kishtwar highway.
The ill-fated car bearing registration number JK19-6674 was on its way to Thathri from Gool area of district Ramban, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into Raggi nallah on Batote-Doda-Kishtwar highway this morning.

After getting information, a team from Assar Police Station led by SHO Mushtaq Ahmed immediately rushed to the spot and started rescue operation along with volunteers, but all the five passengers, including the driver, were declared dead on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Tasleema Begum, wife of Shah Nawaz of Salbala Gool District Ramban, her two sons Sahir (6) and Shazeb (3), Mohammad Asief (driver), son of Ghulam Ali of Dedda Gool and Kamran Mustaq (12), son of Mushtaq Ahmed of Dedda Gool.
All the bodies were shifted to the Primary Health Centre Assar and after completing the medical and legal formalities were handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Assar Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the cause of this tragic accident.
