Ill-fated vehicle after accident at village Milani in Bhaderwah. -Excelsior/Tilak Raj

BHADERWAH, Apr 13: Three persons including a forest guard were killed, while two others seriously injured, when the Maruti Van they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into deep gorge near village Milani, falling under the jurisdiction of Bhaderwah Police Station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK06-9019 was on its to village Chakkan Manthla from Bhaderwah, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it landed into 100 meter deep gorge near village Milani late tonight, resulting into on the spot death of three persons and injuries to two others. The accident took place due to negligent driving by the driver.
After getting information, a team from Bhaderwah Police Station led by SHO Inspector Jatinder Sambyal rushed to the spot and with the help of locals started rescue operation.
Two injured persons identified as Rakesh Kumar (29), son of Jagjit Singh and Arun Kumar Bhagat (32), son of Gori Dass, both residents of village Chakkan Manthla were rescued and shifted to Sub-District Hospital Bhaderwah, from where Rakesh Kumar has been referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for advanced treatment.
The bodies of the deceased identified as Omkar (45), son of Roop Chand Bhagat, forest guard Des Raj (40), son of Churu Ram and Vejinder Kumar (35), son of Thakur Lal Bhagat, all residents of Village Chakkan Manthla were retrieved from the gorge and have been shifted to mortuary of Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bhaderwah for postmortem, which will be conducted tomorrow.
A case in this regard has been registered at Bhaderwah Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind the accident.
