JAMMU: Three people, including two women, were killed and as many injured when a passenger taxi they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“A taxi on way from Anantnag to Marwah last night plunged into a deep gorge after skidding off the road near old bridge,” police spokesperson said here today.
He said three passengers died on the spot while as many injured, two of them critically and they were airlifted this morning to Government Medical College and Hospital.
The deceased were identified as Ghulam Hassan Magray 40, Zarifa Begum 43, daughter of Ghulam Hassan and Shahnaza Begum 26, wife of Mohammad Ramzan, all residents of Nawapachhi, Kishtwar.
The injured were identifies as Mohammad Ramzan, 33, Ifroz (driver) and Khursheed Ahmed, residents of Marwah, Kishtwar. (UNI)
