JAMMU, Sept 13: The Government today ordered attachment of three JKAS officers (Assistant Commissioners, Panchayat) and an Executive Engineer (REW) of the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
Official sources said that Assistant Commissioner, Panchayat, Poonch, Shafiq Ahmed; Assistant Commissioner, Panchayat, Samba, Nagesh Singh and Assistant Commissioner, Panchayat, Anantnag, Mukhtiar Ahmed Ahanger (all JKAS), have been attached to the office of Administrative Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, on the basis of low performance.
The concerned Assistant Commissioners (Development), Abid Hussain, Sidharath Dhiman and Reyaz Ahmed Shah, shall hold the additional charge of the post of these Assistant Commissioners Panchayat, in their respective districts, till further orders.
Meanwhile, Incharge Executive Engineer, REW, Rajouri, Bashir Ahmed Sheikh, has also been attached in the Administrative Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, J&K, Civil Secretariat, Srinagar with immediate effect.
Official sources said that on the basis of two inquiries, related to alleged embezzlement of multi-crore MGNREGA funds in the RDD during his posting in Udhampur and Samba and misbehaving with the media-person in Rajouri, the Government has taken action. The multi-crore scam was referred to the CBI by the then Principal Secretary RDD on 23-08-2021.
