Srinagar, July 25: Police in Budgam today arrested 3 persons and seized 3 vehicles involved in the commission of the crime.
Officers from Police Post Soibugh at a checkpoint established at Wadwan Crossing Budgam intercepted three tippers loaded with illegally extracted soil.
“The vehicles bearing Registration Numbers JK01T-5151, JK01P-1657, and JK02-3061 have been seized and their drivers identified as Shabeer Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Ahad Mir resident of Russu, Irfan Akram Mir son of Mohammad Akram Mir resident of Bundgam and Mohammad Yaseen Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar resident of Russu were arrested,” police said.
Those arrested have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 243/2022 under relevant sections of the law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and an investigation has been initiated.
