SRINAGAR, Apr 23: Police today said to have arrested three persons and fined 817 persons for violating the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across Valley.
In a statement issued here, police said: “Keeping in view the recent daily surge in the number of cases in Kashmir, Police in its efforts to implement COVID-19 guidelines strictly, has arrested three persons during last 24 hours, lodged two FIRs and also realized the fine to the tune of Rs 1,08,890 from 817 people for violating the COVID guidelines.”
The special drive against the violators of COVID-19 guidelines, police said, continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley.
In Sopore, police said, the drive was held in Sopore town, Bus Stand, Watergam, Fruit Mandi, Warpora Chankhan and Dangiwacha to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic and also to discourage hoardings/ over pricing.
Police have urged people to cooperate with in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs, guidelines, protocols.
