UDHAMPUR, Apr 26: Police today arrested three gamblers and recovered Rs 6,105 bet money from their possession.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from police station Udhampur conducted a raid at Meat Market and arrested three gamblers identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Bodh Raj of Cheri Sial, Jagdish Chander, son of Mangat Ram of Chakhar and Farooq Ali, son of Rashid Hamed of Chak.
An amount of Rs 6105 was recovered from their possession, he said, adding that a vehicle (auto-magic) bearing registration number JKO2AU-1870, in which the accused were gambling was also seized.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered at Udhampur police station and investigation started.
