JAMMU, Jan 30: Two women were among four persons who died of COVID-19 while 1401 others tested positive in Jammu division today but, quite significantly, recoveries continued to exceed new cases for fourth consecutive day.
Twenty one employees of Shakti Nagar branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank have tested positive for the virus in RTPCR testing. During past fortnight, a large number of Jammu and Kashmir Bank employees in different branches have tested positive for the viral infection. Only yesterday, 29 JKBL officials had tested positive in two branches here.
Two more officials of the Raj Bhawan have also been found infected.
Ten employees and visitors at the Deputy Commissioner office Udhampur also tested positive for pathogen during random testing.

Among four COVID casualties in Jammu region, three were reported from Jammu district and one from Doda.
A 79-year-old woman hailing from Jagti in Nagrota died of co-morbidities and COVID-19 at home. Initially, she was admitted to JK Medicity hospital from where she was referred to DRDO hospital. She was taken home by the family members where she breathed her last.
A 50-year-old man from Rehari and 86-year-old male from Jhullaka Mohalla, both of whom were fully vaccinated, succumbed to virus and multiple ailments in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
A 73-year-old woman, hailing from village Bhabore in Doda district, who was also fully vaccinated but co-morbid, died in the GMC Doda.
Four fresh casualties have taken Corona toll in Jammu region to 2275, the highest being 1199 in Jammu district followed by 245 in Rajouri, 159 Kathua, 144 Udhampur, 141 Doda, 121 Samba, 107 Poonch, 66 Ramban and 45 each in Kishtwar and Reasi districts.
Among 1401 COVID positive cases, the highest 826 were reported from Jammu district, 151 Udhampur, 133 Doda, 59 Kishtwar, 48 Ramban, 46 Samba, 45 Rajouri, 40 Kathua, 35 Poonch and 18 in Reasi district.
As against 1401 new cases, 1585 persons recovered from the virus further bringing down number of active positive cases in Jammu region to 10468.
This was for the fourth consecutive day today that daily cases in Jammu region were lower than the recoveries.
Out of 10468 active positive cases, the highest 5672 are in Jammu district followed by 1406 in Doda, 650 Ramban, 524 Udhampur, 512 Samba, 390 Poonch, 377 Rajouri, 372 Kathua, 329 Kishtwar and 236 in Reasi district.
Jammu region now has 1,56,504 Corona cases. Out of them, 1,43,761 have recovered while there were 10468 active positive cases and 2275 fatalities.
Meanwhile, shops and business establishments remained closed in most parts of Jammu division for second consecutive day today in view of weekend restrictions.
However, private and other transport was near normal in majority parts of the region.
Meanwhile, a Nepali woman died of Coronavirus and 227 persons tested positive in the Union Territory of Ladakh today.
A 72-year-old Nepali woman, who had tested positive for COVID-19 on arrival at Leh airport, died of the virus later in Leh.
The death has taken COVID toll in Ladakh to 224 including 165 in Leh district and 59 in Kargil.
Out of 227 new cases in Ladakh, 134 were recorded in Leh district and 93 in Kargil.
This has taken number of active positive cases in Ladakh to 1261—854 in Leh and 407 in Kargil.
Corona count in Ladakh now stood at 25763. Of them, 24278 have been treated.
