KATRA, Apr 6: Continuing its drive against drug abuse, Police today arrested three drug peddlers and seized 39 grams of heroin from their possession.
The three accused, who were riding on motorcycle JK20-4094 and were on way from Domail to Katra, were intercepted by cop deployed at Police Check Post Nomain.
During search, 39 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the accused, identified as Mohd Majid, son of Abdul Gani of Kans Khassan, Reasi , Shiv Nandan son of Surinder Sharma of Reasi and Rohit Arora son of Madan Lal of W. No. 09 Reasi.
All the three accused were arrested on the spot and recovered Heroin was seized and sent to Forensic Science Laboratory Jammu. FIR number 66/2021 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered in this connection at P/S Katra and investigation has been initiated.
SSP Reasi, Shailender Singh has instructed SDPO Katra for recording interrogation report of all the three accused persons and dig out the backward linkages of drug peddlers and also prepare the list of consumers of the banned drug and accordingly investigate that too. SP Katra has been directed to personally supervise the investigation of the case on day to day basis.
