3 docs among 17 suspended

RAJOURI, May 3: District Administration Rajouri today placed 17 officials including three doctors under suspension for being absent from duty at CHC, Kotranka (Kandi).
The action was taken on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri,  Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary after he received complaints that CHC was locked even at 10.45 am today and the people were waiting for the Medical staff outside the hospital. The new DC immediately directed SDM Kotranka,  Gopal Singh to rush to the hospital and after confirmation of compliant take action.
The SDM reached there and found that allegations were correct.  A local  staff member rushed to CHC after knowing that SDM had reached there and opened the locks. The SDM took the attendance register into custody and conveyed the whole matter to DC Rajouri who asked him to forward the list of absentees. The DC then placed all the 17 Medical employees  under suspension including three Medical officers – Dr Farooq Mir MO, Dr Imran MO and Dr Deepak Talwar,  DMEO.
The other Medical staff members suspended by DC are: Senior Assistant  Abdul Sattar, Lab Tech Mohd Farooq, Pharmacist -Sheraz Ahmed, Mohd Khalid -Opth Tech,  Vipul Gupta -Opth Tech, Anil Kumar Dental Tech, Shenaz Akhtar- JNS, Vandana Raina jr staff nurse (JNS), Asha Kumari -FMPHW, Sangeet Prabha LHV, Khalida Begum FNO, Muneer Hussain  Safai Walla, Ravinder Kumar Office Assistant and Javed Iqbal, driver.
It was found that seven staff members including two doctors were absent for the last three days out of 17, while two were absent for the last two days. They all were attached to the CHC Kandi.
Additional DC Rajouri, Avtar Singh Chib has been directed to hold detailed inquiry and submit report within one week so that further action is initiated  against these Health department employees.
The DC has directed all the SDMs and Tehsildars of the district to closely monitor the attendance/ departure and movement  of  the Govt employees including school teachers/ headmasters/ principal etc    and take immediate action against them if they were found unauthorisedly absent from duty. He also asked them to take feed back from prominent villagers/ former Panchayat members  of the area.
It may be recalled that immediately after taking over the charge as DC Rajouri,  Dr Shahid moved to the District  Hospital Rajouri and cautioned the staff to take their job seriously and ensure regular attendance and serve the people in better way. He also dropped hint regarding strict action in case of any leniency.
