3 die of COVID in J&K, 11 new cases in Leh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Dec 14: Three persons died of COVID-19 and 246 tested positive including a senior IAS officer and a Medical Superintendent of the hospital while 387 others recovered from the virus in Jammu and Kashmir today.
A senior IAS officer, who was previously posted as Principal Secretary with former Lieutenant Governor, today tested positive for COVID-19.
Dr Kirti Bhushan, Medical Superintendent, Psychiatric Hospital Jammu has also tested positive for the virus.
An 82-year-old man from Pallanwalla in Akhnoor, who was co-morbid and positive for the Coronavirus, died in the Military Hospital Satwari today while 50-year-old from Paryal in Marh area of Jammu district succumbed to the virus at home.
A 70-year-old man from Guzarbal in Ganderbal district was the lone Corona casualty in Kashmir today.
In Jammu region, 126 persons today tested positive for COVID-19 including 87 in Jammu district. In rest all districts of the region, Corona positive cases were in single digit including nine in Ramban, seven each Udhampur and Kishtwar, five Reasi, four each Samba and Kathua and three in Rajouri district. No positive cases were reported from Doda and Poonch districts today.
Of 169 persons, who recovered from the virus, 59 hailed from Jammu, 55 Udhampur, 25 Doda, 15 Kishtwar, 10 Rajouri and five in Kathua district. No recoveries were reported from Samba, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi districts.
Jammu region now has 47560 Corona cases including 2145 active positives as 44765 have recovered from the virus and there have been 650 casualties.
The casualties include 332 in Jammu district, 58 Doda, 53 each Udhampur and Rajouri, 45 Kathua, 34 Samba, 22 Poonch, 21 each Kishtwar and Ramban and 11 in Reasi district.
Eleven fresh cases were today reported in the Union Territory of Ladakh, all in Leh district taking the UT’s Corona count to 9166 including 617 active as 8426 have recovered.
There were 123 Corona casualties in Ladakh including 80 in Leh and 43 in Kargil district.
In Kashmir, 120 tested positive for the coronavirus taking the J&K tally of the viral infection to 116,254.
Those who tested positive in Kashmir include 58 from Srinagar, 209 Baramulla, 16 Budgam, 5 Kupwara, 6 Pulwama, 8 Anantnag, 11 Bandipora, 6 Ganderbal and one from Kulgam.
As per officials figures, 24,317 positive cases including 433 deaths and 22,770 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,746 including 169 deaths and 7,381 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,327 including 6,935 recoveries and 105 deaths are from Budgam, 5,372 including 5,109 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Kupwara, 5,300 including 88 deaths and 5,047 recoveries are from Pulwama, 4,667 including 4,483 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,548 cases including 4,378 and 57 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,358 including 4,225 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,628 including 2,509 recoveries and 52 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,431 including 2,292 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.
Out of the 116,254 positive cases in J&K, 68,694 are from Kashmir including 65,129 recoveries and 1,152.
The active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,558 including 2,413 from Kashmir division.
So far 3,366,391 people were tested for the coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir and 3,250,137 tested negative and 116,254 positive. Among them 4,558 persons are active, 109,894 persons have recovered and 1,802 persons have died.
With 387 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 109,894 which is 94.52 percent of the total cases.
