3-day teacher training workshop commences

JAMMU, July 12: Jodhamal Public School today kick started a 3-day workshop for the teachers to hone up their teaching skills.
The workshop started with a welcome address by the principal and lighting of inaugural lamp by the resource person, Amitabh Garg from Dehradun, who has 25 years of experience in teaching and training of teachers of different CBSE, ICSE and State Boards and is also in the panel of GMVN, ONGC, Wipro and so on.
He trained the teachers how to introduce themselves and their peer groups. He also had games for the teachers to know themselves in and out where he very diplomatically conveyed to the teachers the do’s and don’t of the teaching profession.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that teachers are the nation builders and money should not be the ultimate priority of them. A teacher should not discriminate the students on the basis of caste, creed, colour or social status of their parents, he added.
Towards the close of the workshop on day 1, principal of the school, Tirlok Singh Bist said that it is not the bookish knowledge, which is actually retained after few years, it is only the values, confidence and the way we as teachers carry ourselves is retained by our students, hence a great responsibility lies on our soldiers and such workshops for teachers are a must to ignite the teaching community to work towards their goals.
Others present on the occasion were Rohini Aima, Aarti Kuthiala, all coordinators and 136 teachers of the School.
