REASI, Feb 6 : Coinciding with Mahashivratri, the historic three-day Shiv Khori Mela – at the famous cave shrine of Lord Shiva nested in Shivilik hills, is commencing from February 26.
This was disclosed by Deputy Development Commissioner Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, who convened a meeting of officers to review the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Mela.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue (Executive Officer SSKSB), Tilk Raj Shastri, Additional SP Varinder Salathia, Shiv Kumar Sharma president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Assocation and officers from various departments participated in the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner disclosed that preparations for providing necessary facilities to the visiting pilgrims are going on and instructions were also given to all the concerned Government Departments for making all the arrangement pertaining to their concerned department well in advance.
He issued instructions to the concerned to give festive look to the Darshani Deodi of cave shrine and other important areas on the track as well as the base camp of the shrine, Ransoo.
Free food stalls (langers) by various social organisations besides entertainment for the pilgrims by various cultural troops and wrestling competition on (Feb 28) last day of the Mela at Ransoo would be other highlights during the Mela days.
