PANCHARI, Sept 10: The 3-day Historic Sankri Devta Mela in block Panchari of district Udhampur today concluded with overwhelming participation of over 40,000 devotees.
Minister of State for Finance & IT, Pawan Kumar Gupta was the chief guest on the concluding day of the mela.
The mela was organized under the overall supervision of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gupta said that Sankri Mela played a pivotal role in promotion of local culture, brotherhood and communal harmony in the society.
He assured the people that Govt will do a lot of improvement and development at the mela site and other areas of the Panchari, Mongeri, and Lander. He also informed the people about various social security schemes such as APY, PMJJBY and PMSBY and stressed upon them to open more accounts under JDY.
Earlier, MLA Chenani Dinanath Bhagat, also spoke on the importance of Sankri Devta temple and rich culture traditions of the people of the area.
