3-day cultural event concludes at CUJ

JAMMU, Apr 13: Three day cultural event ‘Udaan 2018’, which started on 11th of April, concluded today at Temporary Academic Block in Sainik Colony.
The event was organised by the Department of Student Welfare. Total 400 students participated in 14 events, organised during 3-day cultural fest ‘Udaan 2018’.
On the occasion of valedictory function, Vice Chancellor Jammu University Prof R D Sharma was the chief guest.
Stressing on the importance of cultural activities, he said that students should not let this opportunity go because these activities constitute very important discourse apart of the academics.
Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu, Prof Ashok Aima, in his address, said that such events should be part of our regular exercise.
On the occasion, VC Jammu University and VC Central University of Jammu also released 3rd edition of half yearly magazine Utter Bahini.
In the end, prizes were distributed to the winners of different activities which took place across the three days. In On Spot Painting competition, Department of Educational Studies, in light Vocal Solo, Dept. of NSS, in Mime Marketing and Supply Chain Management, Stand Up Comedian, Deptt of Physic, in group Folk Songs Deptt of Economics, in Collage Making, Dept of EVS, in Poetry Recitation, Deptt of English, in Mimicry B.VOC (TM), in Photography Dept of Educational Studies and in Rangoli Deptt of MCNM got the first prize.
Vote of thanks was presented by Head of Department of Mass Communication and New Media, Prof. Govind Singh.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof Deepak Pathania, presented a formal welcome address.
