JAMMU, July 23: The three -day long Chandi Maha Yagya started at holy shrine of Kheer Bhawani Tulmulla in Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir today.
The Maha Yagya is organised by Pt. Prem Nath Shastri Sanskritik Shodh Sansthan and Jyotshi Karyalya, Gole Gujral Jammu under the patronage of Pt. Omkar Nath Shastri chairman of the Sansthan in which various religious scholars are taking part.
Shastri Ji said that this Maha Yagya has a special significance in which the Mantras will be chanted by the religious scholars to invoke the blessings of Goddess for peace and prosperity of mankind besides relieving the humanity of the dreaded Pandemic which has taken a high toll all over world and brought many miseries to the people.
He said the Chandi Maha Yagya has a special significance as per Hindu religious scriptures in which the mantras are being recited to please the Goddess to invoke her blessings for betterment and prosperity of mankind.
He said Kheer Bhawani is the one of the most sacred shrines in Kashmir which is being worshiped by the devotees from thousands of years. He said the devotees had firm belief that the Goddess will rid them of all miseries by showering her blessings on them.
The devotees from Jammu as well as different parts of Kashmir are participating in the three day long religious function and the Sansthan has made all arrangements for their boarding and lodging said Avtar Krishan Jyotsi, its spokesman.
He said the Maha Yagya will culminate on July 25 with Puranahuti and the devotees will be served with prashad afterwards.
Jyotshi said that during the three day long Maha Yagya COVID SOPs will be applied fully.
