3 COVID deaths, 1429 fresh cases in J&K

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Feb 4: Three persons died of COVID-19 and 1429 tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir today while 160 fresh cases were reported in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
One casualty and 607 cases were recorded in Jammu division while two fatalities and 822 positives were registered in Kashmir.
An 87-year-old man hailing from Barnai in Jammu district died of multiple ailments and COVID-19 at Narayana Hospital Katra today taking Corona toll in Jammu division to 2300 and Jammu district to 1214.
Four persons at Civil Secretariat and one at RTO Office Jammu tested positive for COVID-19 today while three persons were found infected at Narwal Sabzi Mandi.
Seven pilgrims tested positive for the virus on their arrival at Katra Railway Station.
Among 607 fresh COVID positive cases in Jammu division, 228 were reported from Jammu district, 135 Doda, 60 Kathua, 53 Udhampur, 47 Kishtwar, 26 Ramban, 23 Reasi, 19 Poonch, 12 Rajouri and four in Samba district.
As against 607 cases, 1437 recovered from the virus leaving number of active positive cases in Jammu division to 6851.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported 160 new COVID positive cases including 95 in Leh district and 65 in Kargil.
This has taken number of active positive cases in Ladakh to 1147—705 in Leh and 442 in Kargil district.
Corona count in Ladakh now stood at 26560. Of them, 25187 have recovered from the virus while there were 226 deaths 167 in Leh and 59 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 822 positive cases while two persons suffering from the viral infection succumbed here.
With the two fresh deaths in the Valley, the toll in J&K has gone to 4702 including 2402 in Kashmir.
Those who tested positive include 266 from Srinagar, 108 from Baramulla, 86 from Budgam, 34 from Pulwama, 55 from Kupwara, 64 from Anantnag, 47 from Bandipora, 45 from Ganderbal, 96 from Kulgam and 21 Shopian.
As per officials figures, 100,635 cases including 903 deaths and 92,368 recoveries are from Srinagar, 37,152 including 303 deaths and 33,487 recoveries are from Baramulla, 34,271 including 32,663 recoveries and 229 deaths are from Budgam, 18,219 including 17,554 recoveries and 200 deaths are from Pulwama, 21,294 including 172 deaths and 20,350 recoveries are from Kupwara, 22,135 including 20,350 recoveries and 218 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,500 cases including 12,856 and 115 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,446 including 13,012 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 16,115 including 14,961 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,244 including 5,990 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.
With fresh cases, the number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached 283,011 including 263,380 recoveries and 2,402 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 24,080 including 17,229 from Kashmir division.
With 4,057 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 415,109 which is 93.52 percent of the total cases.
