SRINAGAR, Feb 17: Police today said three persons including a girl committed suicide by hanging themselves at three separate places in Kashmir Valley.
A police spokesman said a 15 year-old girl (name withheld) hailing from Dara on the outskirts of city here hanged herself at her home. “She was shifted to SMHS hospital where she breathed her last,” he said.
The spokesman said a 24 year-old youth hailing from Shah-e-Hamdan Colony in Eidgah here also hanged himself at his home. “He was brought to SMHS Hospital by his relatives where doctors declared him brought dead,” he said. The spokesman said police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC in both the cases and investigation in this regard is going on.
He said that an 18 year-old boy hailing from Peer Mohalla in Arin area of Bandipora district hanged himself to death at his home. “Police have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC in this regard,” the spokesman added.
