3 arrested with stolen items

UDHAMPUR, July 25: Ramnagar Police arrested three thieves and recovered stolen items from their possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a man namely Mool Raj, son of Thakur Dass of Ladana with Police Station Ramnagar stating that some unknown miscreants broke down the lock of the temple nearby his house and decamped with around Rs 1.10 lakh cash alongwith silver ornaments and idols of Lord Krishna and Mata Vaishno Devi.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 43/2022 under sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Ramnagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Ramnagar conducted raids at different suspected locations and interrogated number of suspects/habitual offenders and during the sustained interview of these suspects, one of them namely Liaqat Ali, son of Mohd Iqbal of District Doda broke down and confessed the commission of the offence and was arrested subsequently.
On his disclosure, his other associates who were involved in the case were also arrested and were identified as Mohd Aslam, son of Bir Mohd of Suneta District Udhampur and Yaqoob, son of Mohd Ismail of Basantgarh.
Police team also recovered the stolen items viz 19 silver ornaments (Chattars), idols of Lord Krishna and Rs 27000 cash from the possession of these accused persons.
It is pertinent to mentioned that three more accused persons namely Mohd Showkat of District Doda, Mohd Zakir of Sunetar and Mohd Zawar of Ladana are still absconding and hunt continues to nab them.
However, further investigation into the case is also going on.
