SRINAGAR, July 5: Acting tough against individuals involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, the police today arrested three persons and seized three vehicles in Budgam.
A police party from PP Humhama, at a checkpoint established near Petrol Pump at Sheikhpora, seized three tippers and arrested three drivers.
The drivers involved in the illegal transportation of minerals have been identified as Mohd Akbar Bhat, son of Gh Mohd Bhat, a resident of Khanpora Budgam; Fayaz Ahmad Chopan, son of Gh Mohd Chopan, a resident of Wadipora Budgam; and Zubair Ahmad Lone, son of Mohammad Talib, a resident of Dafpora Budgam.
Accordingly, police said, a case under FIR No. 182/2023, encompassing relevant sections of the law, has been registered at Police Station Budgam, and further investigation has been initiated.
