KATHUA, Mar 3: In continuation to stringent action against illicit drugs menace, Kathua Police cracked down on illegal illicit liquor trade at Village Chack Drab Khan and arrested three persons including two women, seized 250 ltr of illicit liquor and destroyed 1000 liters of Lahan on the spot.
Acting swiftly on a tip off, police team of Police Station Kathua during a raid at Village Chack Drab Khan in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kathua and seized 250 liters of illicit liquor in illegal possession of Shakuntla, W/o Kewal Krishan and Preeti W/o Ashok Kumar both residents of Chack Drab Khan.
A brewery (Lahan Bhatti) was also recovered from the possession of Jatinder Kumar S/o Romesh Kumar R/o Chack Drab Khan by police team.
In this regard three FIRs under different sections of Excise Act have been registered at Police Station Kathua and investigation initiated into the case.
Kathua police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace. “We request people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption with police for the cause and their identity will be kept confidential, police said in a handout issued here, today.
