3 acquitted in Divya Manhas murder case

JAMMU, Jan 30: Second Additional Sessions Judge Jammu V S Bahu today acquitted three accused namely Yashjeet, Robail Sharma and Vikram from the offences of murder and NDPSA in the much publicized Divya Manhas murder by drugs overdose case.
In an elaborate judgment, the court discussed all the witnesses and their testimonies and the investigation and finally found that the case could not be proved by the investigation of the Crime Branch.
Advocate A K Sawhney appeared for accused Yashjeet, who was considered as the alleged kingpin of the drugs racket as claimed by the Police in the case. On 10-10-2014 Divya Manhas was found unconsciously lying outside of her residence and accordingly inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC were conducted and FIR was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat.
Subsequently the case was transferred to Crime Branch Jammu and SIT was constituted. The Crime Branch arrested three accused.
