NAGPUR: Maharashtra today recorded their second straight victory when they defeated Indian Railways 3-0 in a league encounter of the Senior National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy here today.
In the other match of the day, defending champions Services got the better of Jammu and Kashmir 1-0.
Maharashtra led 2-0 at the breather and enjoyed dominance throughout the game. Vijay Shetty opened the account in 14th minute while Mohammad Shabaz Pathan added second goal in the 39th minute.
After the break, Maharashtra added third goal though Aaron D’costa.
Services handed over second defeat to Jammu and Kashmir in the league phase. The lone goal for them was scored by P Jain.
Tomorrow, Punjab will take on West Bengal, while Goa will clash with Assam. (AGENCIES)
