JAMMU, Jan 15: 28th Road Safety Week celebrations concluded across the State.
JAMMU: Motor Vehicles Department today organized valedictory function of 28th Road Safety Week at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, here.
On the occasion, Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Sunil Sharma was the chief guest, who awarded trophies, mementos and commendation certificates to all the participants, who excelled in different activities organized during the Road Safety Week. For the Walkathon, the first prize as best contingent was awarded to SOS Narwal, while second and third prizes were awarded to Project Coordinator Don Bosco Tech. Society Gangyal, Jammu, Girls and Boys 2nd Battalion, Jammu and Holy Cross Convent School Jammu. For Cyclothon, the participants were already awarded six bicycles by means of draw of lots on the same day, however Shaurya and Vidhya Sagar were also awarded for being youngest and oldest participant respectively on the occasion. For painting competition in the senior group Sahil Raina from Government MAM College, Ruchika Chaudhary from Parade College and Sonika Raksal from DB Tech Trikuta Nagar were awarded first, second and third prizes respectively. In Group A, Sufria Bhagat of class 5th of Holy Cross Convent School RS Pura, Monika Chib of Class 4th of Holy Cross Convent School and Anamika of Class 1st of Holy Convent School were awarded first, second and third prizes respectively, whereas in Group B, Sanvi Gupta of Class 6th of Presentation Convent School Gandhi Nagar, Vrinda Basotra of Class 7th of Jodhamal Public School and Supanaya Singh of Class 7th of Presentation Convent were awarded first, second and third prizes respectively. In Group C, Vanshika Jamwal of Class 11th of Presentation Convent Gandhi Nagar, Kritui Gupta of Class 9th of Presentation Convent Gandhi Nagar and Naveen Kumar of Class 10th of Army Public School were awarded first, second and third prizes respectively. On the occasion, the Minister also awarded mementos for best decorative rotary for decorating PHQ Chowk to M/s Jamkash Vehicleades, Best Traffic Cop Award to Head Constable Ghandrab Chand and Best Official Award to Hafiz-ul-Rehman of RTO Office Jammu. Besides, this trophies and mementos were also awarded to the representatives of the Transport Unions, Trade Dealers and Sponsoring Agencies those who have contributed effectively for celebration of 28th Road Safety Week. In addition to this, trophies were also awarded to the winning team of the 3rd New Year Master T-20 Cup, organized during the week which was sponsored by Motor Vehicles Department as a part of Road Safety Week.
Among others present were Bipul Pathak, Principal Secretary, Transport Department, Vineeta Gupta, Transport Commissioner, IG Traffic Shafqat Ali Wattali, IPS Additional Transport Commissioner, Joint Transport Commissioner, SSP Traffic, SP Headquarter Jammu, SSP Ramesh Kumar Bhat and Secretary, Red Cross Society.
The function was organized and managed by Ashwani Kumar Khajuria and the staff of the RTO Office Jammu.
KATHUA: 28th Road Safety Week with the theme “Your Safety, Secures Your Family-Be Cautious on Road” concluded here today. The concluding programme was organized at Government Degree College, Kathua where Member Legislative Assembly, Rajiv Jasrotia was the chief guest. RTO Kathua Amarjeet Singh, ARTO Indu Jamwal, Principal GDC Kathua Netar Singh, DC Excise Rajesh Sharma, representatives of various Transport Unions and private schools, volunteers of NCC and NSS and college students were also present during the programme.
Prizes and certificates were distributed among the participants who participated in the activities organized during the Road Safety Week.
SRINAGAR: To mark the conclusion of 28th Road Safety Week celebration, a valediction function was held today at Institute of Hotel Management here.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan was the chief guest on the occasion while Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad Rather and Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar, Bashir Ahmad were also present.
Mementoes and certificates were presented to the participants of the week long 28th Road Safety Week Programme.
BANDIPORA: To mark conclusion of weeklong awareness campaign under 28th Road Safety Week, a district level awareness programme was held today at SK Sports Stadium, here.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Bandipora, MM Sofi was the chief guest on the occasion, while as large number of transporters, drivers, conductors and general public participated in the programme.
Experts from Motor Vehicle Department delivered lectures on various road safety measures. They stressed on the need for strict implementation of traffic rules and regulations to minimize the road accidents and traffic jams.
In an award ceremony, certificates and mementos were given to those who performed best during 28th Road Safety Week.
GANDERBAL: In connection with the 28th Road Safety Week celebration, a concluding function was jointly organized by the Motor Vehicles Department and ARTO Ganderbal at Mini Secretariat here today.
Deputy Commissioner, Tariq Hussain Ganai, ASP Ganderbal Shivdeep Singh, ARTO Ganderbal Arif Parviaz Shah, CPO, Deputy CEO and other concerned officers also attended the function.
Mementoes were distributed among the officers and transporters of the district.
