UDHAMPUR, May 15: A villager sustained serious injuries while his 27 sheep died as the lightning and thunder storm struck Latti village in Dudu area of district Udhampur last night.
Sources said that incident took place at Sira in Marothi area of Latti. At least 27 cattle of the villager, Om Parkash were killed on the spot and three others sustained injuries due to lightning. He himself sustained injuries and was removed to Latti Hospital and then referred to Udhampur.
On receiving information today, Sheep Husbandry Department sent a team to the village for postmortem and seeking detailed report of the incidehnt, village Chowkidar Ramesh Chander said.
